August Shopping Links and Type Recommendations

As always, type suggestions are non-exhaustive, and links will be added as things are found.

I did not buy the swimsuit last month, though my eye is still on the coral pink one piece, because my city is under water restrictions and we aren’t having all the water fun we had hoped to this summer. A yellow bag I had my eye on for my shopping this month sold out what feels like overnight, so I might spend this month’s budget on the costume accessories I have bookmarked. Are you shopping for anything in particular this month?

LINKS

  1. Pearl necklace - MQ base and MQ-as-subtype. A classic idea with a really modern take.

  2. Puff sleeve aqua shirt - Angel base and Angel-as-subtype

  3. Green shirt with embroidered flowers - This is such a pretty shade of green, and there are matching cropped jeans. Taller Fae might appreciate the larger scale and more minimal flower motif.

  4. Circus print t-shirt - Expensive and I would wait for a sale, but a really unique and fun print for the right Fae. I feel like unique t-shirt (unique prints, colors, lines) are a staple for adding personality to casual wear for most of the style types.

  5. A unique blue shade of t-shirt, this one a boxy cut with half sleeves - Spirit Healer.

  6. And this one slim with a mock neck - 90s minimalism of course, as well as Nymph base and Valkyrie-as subtype.

  7. This pink twill jump/boilersuit tempts me. I think it’s something Cate Blanchett might wear with platform sneakers. - So maybe very casual Sea Witch, but also SeaPuck, and maybe Angel base.

  8. Seersucker blouse with waist shaping - I feel like I’ve linked this one before but I can’t find it, so maybe I only thought that I should. - I think of Angel first, but also Maenad, and just as a wearable basic blouse with waist shaping possibility, if off-palette, for DP, Mermaid, and Seer. Maybe some Imps as well for the pirate-y feeling.

  9. This cabled halter top looks so elegant for summer knitwear, a very good basic for both - Valkyrie base, Banshee.

  10. This knit sleeveless top is plainer, but comes in a pretty sage color that the halter does not - Valkyrie base, Banshee, many others.

  11. Cream on cream embroidered denim shirt for Satyress and Ghost

  12. Leaf wrap ring for Nymph

  13. Burgundy patent T strap flats for Dark Pixie in particular but also more generally Angel’s with darker color schemes, Soul Guardian, etc.

  14. Wool and mohair bib collar/sweater vest is for many types with classic leanings. Brownie and Banshee come to mind first, but it’s a really versatile knit, especially in the navy.

  15. This delicate looking semi-sheer knit would work for a few types, but this mid shade of brown makes me think of Nymph, Nymph-as-subtype first.

  16. There is a matching skirt, but the semi-sheer and the shorter lining skirt and the midi length would be better for Seer than Nymph. Some Seers who can handle high necklines might get the top as well and have a great matched set.

  17. Need work pants? These are a slightly wide leg with a satin finish, made from acetate, and come in burgundy, sage, soft white, navy, and black. I like the subtly textured satin finish, and that’s good for too many types to list, narrowed down some by the slightly wide leg to definitely include - Necromancer, Soul Guardian, Phoenix, Jinn, Sorceress…

  18. Expensive for a viscose blouse, but also spot on for Elf
